"Mr. M" Fall Paintings

"Mr. M" Series, acrylic on wood 10 x 10 inches by Soizick Meister

I am presently working on a new series of "Mr. M" paintings for my December show at Jacana Art Gallery in Vancouver, BC.

The four samples above were inspired by the warm autumn colors of the trees and the melancholy of the gray rainy days.

Painting for Notaries Public

"Relationship between a Notary Public and his Clients"
Painting by Soizick Meister 20 x 20 inches acrylic on canvas
A Notaries Public office in Vancouver commissioned me a series of four paintings 20 x 20 inches for their office. The challenge was to find simple and eye catching ideas visualizing their functions. The walls in the office are painted in red and yellow. I chose a mixed technique line art and realism to deliver a clear message. This is the first painting of the series. My clients were pleasantly surprised and satisfied. Well, now I can go back to my sketch book for the next three pieces.

12 Little Red Dots

"Mr. M" Series, acrylic on wood 10 x 10 inches by Soizick Meister

My art show at Jacana closed today with 12 little red dots. I am very happy and proud the "Mr. M" series received positive appreciation. Having the feeling that people have been touched by the images enough to buy the paintings is for me the best reward for my work and efforts.
Thank you to the visitors and buyers from Montreal, Winnipeg, Regina, Toronto and Vancouver.
It is a great pleasure knowing that 12 pieces of "Mr. M" will be seen in different parts of Canada.
Full of energy and new ideas, I already started a new collection of "Mr. M". I will be ready to show my work at Jacana Gallery in November 2007.

Treehouse

Digital/line art Illustration by Soizick Meister

A tree growing inside a glasshouse expanding its branches outside and pushing little icons representing symbols of the French culture such as the Eiffel Tower, croissants, the 2CV, a cup of coffee ..... into the air.
This is the illustration I did for the multimedia library of the Alliance Française in Vancouver. Due to the low budget and the required flexibility to change the colors of the logo, I proposed a digital line art drawing. The document will be printed on different promotional material such as flyers, brochures, labels, etc..
Having French roots myself, doing this illustration for my community was a pleasure.

Cherry Branch on your Wall

Painting: Soizick Meister 14 x 36 inches, Acrylic on canvas
Cherry blossoms are ephemeral, unless you need them as an
artistic Motif for a decorative and narrative painted Tryptic
you can hang and keep for a long time. Inspired by the blooming
cherry trees in front of my Studio and floral patterns seen
in interior design magazines, I created this 3 panel painting.
I chose the line art technique and acrylics on canvas.

The detail of this panel shows you the symbols, writings, dots...

I like to add in my paintings. I spent a nice week with my project.

In the meantime...the wind blew the flowers off the cherry trees, creating

a pink and aromatic carpet on the street. Spring is all around!...

Preliminary sketches.

My work is for sale at affordable prices, similar pieces can be created for you.

Business Card

Illustration: Soizick Meister

This week, I created this business card for a painting company in Vancouver, BC. where I live. It was a nice commission.
My client, the owner of the company and painter himself, wanted an eye catching card, showing his customers: he is tidy, careful and friendly...
I chose the idea of a shell as symbol of protection , careful ... bright colors and a whimsical touch .
The original was painted with acrylic on canvas 11x16 inches, scanned, the layout was realised on Photoshop .The address, tel,.. are on the back of the card.
My client is satisfied, 500 cards were printed. T shirts and other printed material will follow.
